New York

Dr. Preter’s Manhattan practice takes care of many international patients. Multispecialty diagnosis and treatment, which includes in-depth psychotherapy is conducted in three languages, English, French, and German. Continuity and personalized follow-up is provided worldwide through periodic visits and electronic communications.

Based in New York/USA, Dr. Preter regularly consults in the PR China. Regular visits to the European Union and the Gulf are in preparation.


China

Dr. Preter is a frequent academic visitor to China, and is a noted expert on the PRC’s ongoing efforts to modernize health care and medical education [click here for China Daily Op-Ed].

As course teacher, clinical supervisor, and member of the China American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA) Advisory Board, Dr. Preter is actively involved in the development and promotion of quality mental health services in China by training Chinese mental health professionals as psychodynamic psychotherapists.

Dr. Preter provides, on a periodic visiting basis in cooperation with local hospitals, consultations in integrated, multispecialty psychiatric-neurological medicine to both Chinese-speaking and Western patients in China and East Asia. Consultation visits to Shanghai and now, Beijing are taking place on average every three months.
